Carpenter Camps, Lake Clear, NY

Welcome to Carpenter Camps on Lake Clear, NY!

Each camp is independently owned. Click on the names
to the left for more information and photographs.

Lake Clear is known for its crystal clear waters, its sandy
lake-bottom, and all the fishing you can get in on a family
vacation. The wildlife is spectacular (loons, blue herons and
mergansers). You will wake up to hear the loons talking amongst themselves every morning. A good portion of the
lakeshore is state land which is undeveloped and helps keep
a tranquil setting for your family vacation. There is no public
boat launch site, and there are few motorboats. Each camp comes with its own rowboat and canoe.

Drive fifteen minutes into Saranac Lake for great Mexican
food at Casa del Sol or pasta at Little Italy. Saranac offers a
summer community theater and concerts at the Pendragon both indoor and outdoor. On your way to Saranac you can't
miss the region’s best soft ice cream at Donnelly’s Corners.

Lake Placid is 20 minutes away, with all the restaurants and
shops you would need for an evening out. The Olympic
Center offers ice skating shows with skaters from around the
world. Visit the famous olympic ski jump or take a chair lift
ride up the side of the popular White Face Mountain. Annual
regional events include the Horse Show, the Iron-man
competition, the Can-Am rugby tournament.
